Each year around Taiwan National Day in October, Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau holds “Military Village Cultural Festival” jointly with local communities to deepen tourists’ understanding towards Qingshui’s military village culture.

 

Inspired by flag of Taiwan, also known as the Blue Sky, White Sun, and a Wholly Red Earth, the artist weaved plastic bags on circle frames in order to create radial lines as a symbolic shape of sunlight. She joined these frames into a canopy and hung the installation over the courtyard. This canopy installation intended to compared to the sun's radiance, shining on the people who come to the military dependents' village.
